Unexpected operation
Today I’m going in for an unexpected operation. That means I am not having breakfast and you all know how grumpy that makes me. Anyway, Mum said if the scales were anything to go by yesterday I should be skipping more than breakfast, but I’m choosing not to dwell on that.
When I saw my lovely vet yesterday I explained that my eye was sore. She had a good look at the art that has developed in the corner and said she didn’t think that was the problem. Along from the wart, part way across my eyelid edge there is another lump, but she doesn’t think that’s the problem either.
Brown Spot
I thought brown spot was just something the roses get, but it turns out that’s not the case. It’s not actually called that, but I have a brown spot on my conjunctiva. The vet took a photograph of it and had a good poke around. It doesn’t seem as though I’ve got any foreign body in my eye, but is more likely I’ve grown it on my own. When she blew the photograph up Mum’s comment was that it looked suspiciously like a cancerous patch. The vet thinks that might be the case too.
The only option is for me to have it removed. My lovely vet thinks she can do it with sedation and no need for a full general anaesthetic. The other good news is that because of where it is, she thinks it can be clipped away without the need for stitches and anything too drastic. Then it will be sent off for analysis. In the meantime I will have to see if it feels better.
You wouldn’t believe that one dog could have quite so many different eye problems in her lifetime. I just don’t have any luck.
Paws crossed I’ll be home by lunch.
Love and licks
