World’s cuddliest dog
Pebbles is bidding for the title of World’s Cuddliest Dog. Of course, Mum and Dad both fall for it every time. Yesterday morning, Pebbles tucked into her breakfast and then normally she’d just go running outside. The door was open. Freedom awaited. What did our Pebbles do? She went up to Mum and stood on her back legs, wrapping her front paws around Mum for a cuddle. What kind of dog chooses that over being the first to follow the wildlife trails in the morning? Even I put those priorities the other way around.
At lunchtime, it was Dad’s turn. Pebbles asks so nicely that Mum and Dad find her utterly irresistible. I guess it’s one thing she really gets right. Whoever said that dogs don’t like being cuddled clearly hadn’t met the right dogs.
Rubbing noses
I think it’s the Inuit people who rub noses as a sign of respect in greeting. Pebbles would fit in with them very well. She loves rubbing noses with Mum. It’s funny, I’m not so keen on things like that. I prefer my nose to be kept at a small distance. Pebbles knows no such boundaries. Of course, there are times when Mum prefers not thinking about some of the other places that Pebbles’ nose has been, but she tries to overcome that, as it’s such a lovely gesture.
Unfriendly trees
Sadly, one of the apple trees was rather more unfriendly to Mum yesterday and she hit her head on it quite hard. Mum was mowing the grass and had a sun hat on as it was so bright. She didn’t see the branch until it reached out and hit her on the head. By the time she realised what was going on, Mum was sitting on the floor wondering what had happened. Fortunately she seemed ok, once she’d had a bit of recovery time.
