Missing my friends
It’s not just Mum and Dad I’m missing, I’m missing my friends. I couldn’t go to training because my season started and then I came to kennels. Mum is picking me up next Tuesday, so I’ll miss training next week too. I’ve been looking forward to going back and counting down the days. It’s not because I like learning. Really I get quite bored with having to do as I’m told. But I do miss my friends very much.
Leavers
Yesterday Mum gave me some bad news. My best friend, Maggie is stopping going to our classes for a while. She may come back at a later date, but she won’t be there when I get back. On top of that, Otis is dropping out too. Otis is a lovely, solid chocolate Labrador and he’s lovely to be around. I enjoy both of their company. Some of my friends changed group a while ago and I’d come to terms with that as most of my puppy class stayed together and moved up at the same time. I do still have good friends there, but I’m going to have to get used to some new dogs. Actually, Mum says the reality is that they have to get used to me. I’m not everybody’s cup of tea.
Commando crawl
Ernie will still be there. And Toby came up to our class a while ago and has got used to me, but Toby takes it all very seriously. Who’s going to be there to laugh at me when I do my commando crawl to greet them all? Who is going to roll around with me when we should be working? I hate it when things change. Classes have been so much fun with my friends.
This growing up lark really isn’t as much fun as I’d hoped.
