Another manic day – Monday 2nd November 2026

Another manic day

I had another manic day yesterday. Mum was at her wits end with me. At one point I was desperately pulling things out through the bars of my crate as Mum had closed the door. Then I was running to the kitchen, bouncing off the fridge and then running back and body slamming Mum. I managed four repeats of that before she closed the door of the utility and I just ran straight into it.

Confusing

I didn’t know why I was like it. Some of it was like having the zoomies while high on drugs. Not that I’ve ever been high on drugs. I’m just imagining. I was like it all day until late afternoon. Then out of nowhere I realised what I really needed was just to be held by Mum. I tried climbing on her knee in her office chair but it didn’t work. In the end, Mum realised how desperate I was to be held and went and sat with me in the big comfy chair. It was amazing. It was as though all the tension and stress I was feeling melted away and I just fell asleep right there on Mum’s lap.

A request

Mum has asked if we could possibly skip the first part and go straight to the cuddle. I can see why she’d prefer that. Frankly, I think I’d rather do that too. I don’t even enjoy the crazy part. It’s not as though I get anything out of it – except maybe a bit of an adrenaline rush. Mum says it’s not normal, but I’ve not got much to compare it with. Maybe that’s what it is. I like the adrenaline rush it gives and then when it crashes I’m quiet and calm. Whatever it is, we really wish we know how to control it.
