And who would push? – Friday 13th January 2023

And who would push?

And who would push? That’s what I want to know. We went out in the car yesterday morning and the road was well and truly flooded. A white car was stationery with the driver looking at the water. Mum decided we’d be fine and could drive through it. ‘Hang on,’ I said. ‘Who’s going to push if we get stuck?’ There would be no point me trying to steer the car as I can’t reach the pedals and much as I like water, I am not going to get out and push the car out of a flood. Mum didn’t listen to me. I was very pleased when we came out the other side. I know we can be trained as cart dogs, but there is a big difference between pulling a milk churn and a motor vehicle.

Whilst we’re talking about cars

Whilst we’re talking about cars, I’m a little concerned about Dad. For his new job he will be using an electric car to travel in. That is all good news, although of course the fact we don’t have a charging point might cause him some issue. The biggest concern for me is that the interior may be white! Well, at least until I get in, then it won’t be very white at all. Dad has lived with dogs for how many years? Has he learnt nothing in that time? White interiors (or exteriors for that matter) and dogs don’t go very well together. It’s no good him getting upset if I put my paws in the wrong place. It’s no different from children and sticky finger prints. He should always think about what I need as his starting point. It saves an awful lot of heartache when he does.

Let’s wait and see which of us is right!

Love
