Men Everywhere

Yesterday there were men everywhere. It was one of those ‘be careful what you wish for’ situations. If you are going to keep asking when the work is going to be done, you really can’t complain when everyone starts turning up at once to do it. Mum wasn’t feeling very well still. She shut us away in her office together. I was acting as nurse and therapy dog, Mum was sitting there coughing and with a drippy nose. Mum has said that today could be much the same. That is at least as far as there being lots of workmen is concerned. I’m rather hoping Mum starts to feel better. The weather is now good enough to spend our time outdoors if she does.

Exciting deliveries

Yesterday also involved some exciting deliveries. A mattress from Ikea and some material in a lovely soft fabric. Mum says she still needs the Velcro she’s ordered. Once that’s here we can make a start on our new ground level sofa for Mum and me to sit on. I don’t know how she will get back up off the floor if she sits down there with me, but it’s a nice thought. Really, it will be like a glorified dog bed that’s plenty big enough for us both. The difference is that there will be a soft area she can lean her back against as long as we can put it on a bit of floor near a wall.

It’s a fun idea, but I’m sure there was a simpler way to do this. On the bright side, the fabric colour has been chosen to go with the colour scheme of the new garden room and Mum says if it looks ok she will make some new covers for the settee cushions to match.

I just hope this isn’t going to take as long to make as the jumper that Mum started about three years ago.

Love

Wilma
