Alfie’s Bar
Well, Alfie’s Bar is taking shape. We’re still waiting for the bar runner and mats to arrive as unfortunately the machine that makes them broke down and the people had to get another machine. They will be here soon though and will provide the finishing touch. Now all I need to do is come up with Wilma’s Cocktail. It was a great suggestion, thank you. So far I know it will have apple in it, but apart from that I haven’t decided. Mum says that as I’m a dog it should be non-alcoholic, but a girl has to have some fun. I shall ask Dad to try it on my behalf and help me choose the right ingredients.
I did suggest that as it was Alfie’s the drinks should be served from bowls instead of glasses, but neither Mum nor Dad liked that idea.
A worrying problem
Mum is still knitting her jumper. She’s over half way up the first sleeve. That still leaves the rest of this sleeve, the second sleeve and the neck. At the rate she’s going, it might be finished before this year is out, but for one tiny problem. She isn’t sure she’s going to have enough wool. Given that she has now been knitting the jumper for a couple of years and bought the wool a couple of years before that, you may not be surprised to learn that the wool is no longer available.
She has no idea what she’s going to do if she runs out before the end. Having a slightly wonky jumper is one thing. Having a jumper with part of a sleeve or the neck missing would be altogether worse. The particular wool isn’t even available in a different colour. She did say she could undo it and knit something else, but I don’t think that would be the best idea!
