The lemon plan

The lemon plan is not working quite as well as Mum had hoped. So far they do look as though they haven’t suffered. However, from the thermometer it looks as though the temperature went down to exactly the same level that Mum said it was going to be outdoors. She knew our greenhouse wasn’t in a great state, but she hoped it was going to offer a little more protection than that. I guess this means they will have to come indoors sooner than Mum was hoping. I have made very clear that they cannot share my bed – any of my beds. It was important to make sure they didn’t get ideas above their station. Being replaced in Mum’s affections by a lemon tree would be inexcusable.

Beach Hut

Talking about getting ideas above their station, I’m worried about one of the garden sheds. Mum is planning to paint it in brighter colours to look more like a beach hut. She says it will make her smile. I thought that was my job. The shed is right outside the back door so I guess we’ll see a lot of it. The builders have been using it for the last year, but are in the process of giving it back to Mum. She thought it would appreciate a lick of paint before she puts everything back inside.

Mum is oddly excited about getting her shed back as it where she keeps all her useful things for DIY. Once again I fail to understand the things that can get a human excited. On the bright side, it will make it easier to get to the dog things which are stored behind all her DIY things at the moment and that has to be a good thing. I think she may paint the big dog pen too, so we can have a safe outdoor space when we get Pebbles.
