Ruby is a star

Ruby is a star. Her television appearance with her human was broadcast last Sunday. She was on Love Your Weekend with Alan Titchmarsh. She did really well and we all felt very proud of both her and her human. You can see it here and it starts about 11 minutes into the programme.

Face first

I really should have got a face first photo, but I didn’t have a camera on me. There was Mum shifting some more of the compost, with me munching apples just behind her. The next thing I knew, I looked up to find her face first in the compost bin. It’s one of those big wooden bins that you can take the front off to get the compost out. That was exactly what Mum had done. Sadly, she reached too far forward with the spade, not wanting to get her boots too muddy. As it turned out, she got herself muddy from her jumper right down her trousers. She sprained her wrist too, so I had to pretend to be concerned and hide my laughter.

Dad has complained about Mum walking mud into the house, but it’s usually only on her boots instead of all down her front.

One of those days

Poor old Mum was having one of those days. It ended up with a delivery driver reversing into our gate and then moving forward dragging it with him. On the one paw, he was honest enough to give us details of how to sort it out with the delivery company, but on the other paw it meant Mum spending ages on the phone trying to sort it out. I was banished from the office while she rang on the grounds I kept trying to join in and shout things she might have forgotten. I was only trying to help, but on this occasion it really wasn’t appreciated. I’d been quiet all day while the workmen were drilling, I guess I just needed to let off steam a bit. By the end of the day Mum felt much the same way about things.
