Dog free weekend
I am not having a dog free weekend, but Mum and Dad are. Mum said that it was the last chance they had of a weekend away together before we get Pebbles in a few weeks. I’m a little confused by this. Why doesn’t she think I would appreciate a weekend away with them before I have to share them with Pebbles? I suppose it’s time with Dad I’m missing most. No offence to Mum, but she and I do have our trip to Switzerland coming up and it will be just the two of us twenty-four hours a day. Mind you, I should be worrying about Mum this weekend, as she doesn’t cope very well without me looking after her. She is so much calmer and able to cope with the world when she has my paw to hold.
Surrounded by dogs
For my part, I’m surrounded by dogs. There are dogs of all shapes and sizes and more to the point, of all shades of intelligence. You cannot believe how stupid some dogs can be. Oh they are probably cuter than me. They may wonder why I don’t make more of my appearance. Not for me the bows and ribbons, the fluffing up of coats and special cuts to make me look like a fluff-ball.
I’m more your wash-and-go sort of dog. If I’m being strictly accurate, I’m more lick-and-go. I don’t remember the last time I had a bath, or needed one. I keep my white bits white and do my best to keep myself tidy. But give us a logic problem to solve and I’m your dog. I’ll be the first one to work out what the options are and to put the solution in place. If you ever find yourself on a team building exercise, you need a dog like me on your team.
