Being followed – Sunday 22nd December 2024

Being followed

I’m being followed. I have a stalker. Ok, so my stalker is pint-sized and full of fun, but I’m still being stalked. As soon as Pebbles sees me she wants to either see if I can give her any milk – I can’t, or play – I can – a bit! I’m not the biggest fan of playing with puppies. They are just so unpredictable. I also worry that I could hurt them, and the risk is real. Yesterday, apart from having a bit of a chase around the garden room, we did have a little time playing in Pebbles’ pen outside. I thought I was missing out. After a minute or two with Pebbles inside the pen, I reached the conclusion that if I was missing out then I was probably happy about it.

How is she doing?

As to how Pebbles is doing, Mum says that overall she is doing pretty well. She slept through the night – without peeing! I didn’t sleep in the same room. Honestly, I couldn’t face it. She’s eating all her food and whilst she’s had some little accidents, she  is doing pretty well on the toilet front. She totally understands what’s required, it’s just she doesn’t have the control that’s needed yet.

The only really naughty thing she’s done so far is to try and scratch the new wall. Mum and Dad have moved her pen away from the wall a little so she can’t reach anymore. Mum is going to put some blocks down behind the pen to be absolutely certain.

Out for lunch

Pebbles went out for lunch for the first time too. I don’t tend to behave in restaurants anymore, unless I’m the only dog. Mum wants Pebbles to be confident and well-behaved in restaurants, so she’s started young. She was in the carrier so that she didn’t come into contact with where other dogs go yet. Until she’s fully vaccinated Mum will be very careful with her. She sat on Mum’s knee and enjoyed the fuss and attention. She did try to get out of the carry at regular intervals, but it was all very new to her.

After a while Pebbles said she was a bit warm and thirsty so she had some water out of a saucer on the table.

Mum didn’t stay out too long, so there were no accidents until she was back in the car, where she peed. Fortunately she didn’t poo until she was home again.

We have more visitors today, so there’ll be more excitement.

Love
