Wilma’s blood sugar
Wilma’s blood sugar levels are not stable. She and Mum didn’t have a very good day yesterday. Every so often during the day, Wilma’s blood sugar level would suddenly plummet. When that happens, it triggers an alarm and Mum suddenly jumps out of her chair. On the bright side as far as Wilma is concerned, Mum immediately reaches for the Bonios. Never did Wilma have so many of her favourite biscuits. Basically at the moment, she can have pretty much anything she wants. Mind you, don’t get me wrong, it’s a high price to pay just to have a biscuit.
Not wanting to go out
Mum doesn’t want to go out and leave Wilma at all. Unfortunately that’s not possible, but Mum is worrying the whole time she is away from Wilma and getting back as soon as she can.
I know I wouldn’t be able to help if I was there, but I wish there was something I could do. Mum says that staying here and being a good girl is the biggest help I can be. That’s easy – well, staying here is easy. Being a good girl might be open to question.
Potatoes
Mum said that yesterday the last straw was the potatoes. The Maris Piper potatoes seem to have potato scab rather badly. All the time and effort Mum put into them wasted. Fortunately she says she grew two varieties and the King Edwards seem ok, which is a good job as I don’t think Mum can cope with any more bad news right now.
Did I mention that the duck house looks more like a ship wreck at the moment? When Dad comes home, one of them is going to have to get into the pond to sort it out! I am not offering to do it.
