Solid as a rock – Tuesday 7th January 2025

Solid as a rock

In some ways Pebbles is, rather appropriately, solid as a rock. She is coping with the builders rather better than I am. Not only was she pleased to see them all but she coped with the sound of diggers on the drive and drilling in the lounge – both at the same time. Oddly, the one thing yesterday she really wasn’t keen on was the very heavy rain. To be fair, it was so heavy that but for the fact Mum is trying to toilet train her and Pebbles can’t hold on too long, they wouldn’t have gone out.

Mum said that the two builders who Pebbles met before Christmas she was really pleased to see again. Her little tail was wagging madly. They couldn’t believe how much she’s grown and to be fair neither can we.

Meanwhile in the garden

It has been so very wet that our garden is at best waterlogged and at worst flooded and under water. We have a stream running down through one flower bed. Some parts are so boggy that if a human stands on them they start to sink into the ground. If we don’t start having some dry weather then Mum is concerned about what happens next.

Plan for today

Mum says we won’t be going out today. There are a number of men working to replace our drive. There are diggers and all sorts of things everywhere. We are going to stay safely indoors and in the back garden. Pebbles has plenty of chances to play outside so she doesn’t mind too much. The outside world will still be there tomorrow. Mum said she might take Pebbles out to the front in her arms so she can see all the diggers but only if Pebbles promises not to wriggle. That would be an achievement!

Love and woofs
