Pig didn’t last – Thursday 9th January 2025

Pig didn’t last

Well Pig didn’t last. He lost his oink over a week ago and now he has been killed completely. It was death by having his nose chewed off and his innards pulled out, piece by piece. Mum ceremoniously put him in the bin – the first toy that Pebbles has totally destroyed. Dad pointed out that on the bright side, it had lasted a lot longer than toys used to do when Shadow was around. I wasn’t allowed toys like Pig when I was small as they would be destroyed on the same day they arrived. Pig on the other paw lasted nearly three weeks.

Weigh in

Pebbles had her weigh in yesterday. The way she’s going, that age old question ‘does my bum look big in this?’ is only just around the corner. She weighed in at 8.85kg. There is a chart that Mum is entering her weights in which collects lots of information from dog owners of all sizes of dog. It projects a final adult weight based on the growth pattern. At the moment it suggests Pebbles will end up at around 27.5kg – which is too much! She’s think enough with it at the moment, so doesn’t have obvious puppy fat. I think she might be quite a big girl the way it’s going.

Generation Pup

The other project that Pebbles is taking part in is Generation Pup. This is a big research study looking at the whole lifecycle of dogs, our health, our temperament our lifestyles. The researchers will have access to all Pebbles’ health records as well as other information that Mum will provide. Different universities are producing papers about lots of aspects of a dog’s life based on the data collected. Some of it is very interesting. I almost wish I could be part of it.

Love and woofs
