A Bigger Pen
Pebbles now has a bigger pen – it has doubled in size. She now has plenty of space to run around and cause mayhem. Mum has said it’s plenty big enough for me to get in with her, but I gave Mum a derisive look and walked off. Until Pebbles learns to calm down a little I have no wish to be inside the pen or anywhere else with her. Mum says she has normal days and crazy days – yesterday was a crazy day. She spent all morning asleep and all afternoon a totally mad thing. I guess I was like that once, but by the time you get to my age it’s hard to remember.

Vaccinations
Pebbles has the second part of her vaccinations today. Goodness knows what the vet is going to make of her. She’s grown an awful lot in the four weeks since she was there last. She’s already got some of her adult fur coming through on her back and is losing the really soft puppy coat.
I think Mum is planning to take her to the farm shop if she’s good at the vet. At least I’ll get some peace and quiet while they’re out. I have a vet appointment on Monday. I wonder if Mum will take me to the farm shop if I’m good.
Going for walks
Mum thinks it’s a good idea as soon as Pebbles is allowed to go out, for us to have some walks together. Apparently, Mum thinks it might help our relationship. She also wants me to teach Pebbles some things about how we walk. I think it’s less of a good idea. For one thing, Pebbles won’t be able to walk as far as me to begin with. A puppy should only exercise for the equivalent of five minutes per month of life. Even at four months that means no more than 20 minutes. All my favourite walks take longer than that. Mum says I need to compromise, but I’m less convinced.
