My eyes

I went back to the vet yesterday about my eyes. You would be so proud of me. I was a really good girl and sat while the vet put the litmus paper in one eye and then in the other. The paper is marked with numbers along its length and measures my tear rate. One eye had improved a little and one eye was about the same. Both of them are still much lower than they should be.

Because there is some improvement and I’ve said they feel a little easier, we are going to continue with the current treatment for two weeks and then review. If I improve then I will come off the treatment to see if they remain stable or get worse again. If they are stable then we don’t need more treatment and if they’re not then I will have to go onto a stronger medication which I will then stay on. It’s a good job Mum and I have worked a way for me to be ok about her applying the ointment.

Pebbles diet

Pebbles went onto Eukanuba, which is what I eat, after she moved to live with us. Then she asked if she could try something different. Mum did some research as to what might be best and slowly moved Pebbles over. A couple of days ago Pebbles asked Mum if she could go back onto the Eukanuba. She said on balance she thought it suited her better and she was finding the alternative a bit too rich. Now, unless anything much changes, she will stay on the same food through puppyhood and then move onto the adult version of the food.

It’s odd for our breed. At our full weight, girls fall into the medium dog category and boys into the large. The pieces of food are bigger for larger dogs. Pebbles is on the mix for medium puppies, even though her weight suggests she might be a bit on the big side when she’s older.

Love and woofs
