Have fun Pebbles – Sunday 16th March 2025

Have fun, Pebbles

Have fun, Pebbles. See if you can win a prize in one of the games. You would not believe how excited she is about going to her first fun day. Normally, Mum is the one calling all the instructions for the games and doesn’t take part. Today, Dad is going to call the games so Mum and Pebbles can team up. Pebbles won’t be the only first timer, so not knowing any of the rules shouldn’t be too much of a problem. Mum will tell her what to do as long as she’s listening.

The games

There are eleven games planned. The biscuit race is one of my favourites. We have to run along a course and eat the biscuits on route. The winner is the first one to get to the end having eaten all the biscuits. Mum always enjoys the ball and spoon race – it’s like the childhood egg and spoon race but with balls instead of eggs. Then there’s a relay ‘down’ race. Where teams of dogs have to lie down at intervals along the course and then the next dog in the team and so on. Alfie’s favourite, in his younger day, was always biscuit catch. He was very upset when his coordination wasn’t so good and he lost out to younger dogs.

We have an ever popular game of fetch planned, followed by musical chairs. It gets a bit harder then and Pebbles stands no chance in the longest stay game. There is a relay version of the ball and spoon and then a last dog down game.

Obstacle race

Pebbles says she’s looking forward to the obstacle race, which is the penultimate game. The last one is called ‘temptation alley’ and there is absolutely no chance of Pebbles doing well in that one.

I shall just wait at home for Pebbles to tell me all about it. Mind you, if she takes part in everything she will probably sleep the rest of the day.

Love and woofs

Wilma
