Was that summer?
Was that summer, those last two weeks of lovely sunshine? I do hope it wasn’t. Mum loves the sunny days and wants nothing more than to be outdoors with us. We still spend time outdoors when it’s cloudy or wet, but none of us is quite so enthusiastic. The odd thing is that Pebbles has welcomed the possibility of rain as she said the ground was getting quite difficult to dig. To be fair, it will help with the path that I need to encourage Mum to lay. She needs to dig up some turf before putting the slabs down. It’s just that when it’s dull we all feel that little bit more lethargic. Mind you, we don’t have to put up with Mum’s singing quite so often.
A worrying trend
Mum is showing signs of a worrying trend. She, as you will realise, is not as young as she was when Alfie arrived on the scene. I’ll be honest with you, I think the thought of getting older is worrying her a little. She’s demonstrating it in some very odd ways. Amongst other things she’s decided that we all need to be more up to date in our knowledge of music and has signed up to an email with the current week’s top music charts. The email in itself is not a problem, but she is now insisting on playing the number one record each month. This can’t be good news. I’m concerned about which other bits of her youth she might try to recapture.
Dad has already made her promise not to try roller-blading again, but there may be other things it would be unwise for her to be doing. Mind you, given she’s planning to go up the ladder to repair the greenhouse roof, I may not have to look very far to find things to be concerned about.
Love and woofs
