A bit of excitement
Well yesterday involved a bit of excitement – or more to the point, disappointment. I got up, all full of bounce, excited that Dad was coming home after a week in America for work. I’d not been up long when Mum got a message to say that his connecting flight was cancelled and rather than being two hours from landing at Heathrow, he was still in Chicago. That rather put a dampener on things. Now if things go to plan he will arrive home today instead. I’m not sure how soon to get excited as I really don’t want another day of disappointment. I was in a funny mood for the rest of the day after that.
Pebbles and the pigeons
Pebbles likes chasing pigeons. The pigeons are less keen on being chased. Mum said she came pretty close to catching one yesterday. To be honest, I think our pigeons are a little on the plump side and probably have difficulty getting off the ground quite as fast as is ideal. It may explain why other prey seems to catch them with remarkable regularity. We just find piles of feathers when we go out in the morning. I don’t think Pebbles would know what to do if she caught one, but I don’t want to find out.
Visitor
Mum has a visitor coming to stay for a couple of nights. It’s weird for us. It will be the first non-family visitor coming to stay. You cannot believe how excited Pebbles is at the prospect. Mum has explained to Pebbles that she needs to stay calm and be a good dog. She’s being very optimistic putting the words ‘calm’ and ‘Pebbles’ in the same sentence. I do hope the visitor doesn’t mind being pounced on by a 20kg excited puppy.
