Shouting ‘Fish’
Mum was back to shouting ‘fish’ again yesterday. Whilst Pebbles recall has improved, at least in the garden with no distractions, her willingness to give back things she has stolen – has not. The other day it was a cushion from Mum’s favourite outdoor chair. Yesterday it was Dad’s compost stirrer that became Pebbles’ prized possession. Whilst Pebbles is out and about it is impossible for Mum to leave the back door open. If she does then things from the house find their way outside and things from the garden suddenly appear in the house. It wouldn’t be so bad, but they rarely resemble their original form. Both mum and Dad have concluded that Pebbles has all the saved up naughtiness that the rest of us didn’t use up when we were puppies.

Dealing with Pebbles
I often sit and wonder which of all of us would have been best to deal with Pebbles. I’d probably have been fine in my younger day. Alfie and Ari would have been far too soft and she’d have wrapped them both around her little paw. Megan might have done a good job. She had the energy level to cope with Pebbles excesses but was also well enough behaved to have pulled Pebbles into line. Then of course there was Shadow. I actually think she would have been the best dog for the job. However, I also suspect that if Shadow had been given the task or sorting Pebbles out then one or both of them would have ended up at the vet. I would certainly have wanted to stay very far clear of proceedings.
Concerned about a shirt
The other weird thing yesterday was Pebbles getting concerned about Mum wearing a shirt. It was hot and sunny and Mum was trying to do some of the mowing. She put a shirt over what she was wearing so she wasn’t in direct sun. Fortunately, Pebbles was in her garden pen, but she was going crazy. Mum took the shirt off to see if that had been the cause and Pebbles immediately calmed down. We have no idea what to make of that one. That puppy is seriously strange.
