Twiddling our paws
There is a lot of twiddling our paws going on this end. In my case that’s not so bad, as I’m pretty undemanding. In the case of Pebbles it’s an altogether different story and she is being a little more demanding. Mum has explained that the more chance she gets to rest then the quicker she will get better. That doesn’t mean much to an eight month old puppy.
The weird thing is that right now I’m supposed to be in Switzerland. Mum and Dad cancelled the trip about three weeks ago as it wasn’t going to work for a number of reasons. What a stroke of luck that turned out to be. They would have had to cancel at the last minute otherwise. They both went down with Covid on the day we were supposed to start travelling.
Sitting outside
So that Pebbles can have lots of fresh air, Mum has been trying to sit outside with her. Mum has tried sitting in the outside bar, but as you can see, Pebbles is not showing a great deal of patience.

It’s been made more difficult by Mum being put on antibiotics that mean she can’t be in sunlight or even bright light when cloudy, unless she’s completely covered up. Here’s the problem – Pebbles does not like Mum wearing sleeves. If Mum puts a long-sleeved shirt on, then Pebbles tries to rip it off. If Mum’s lucky then Pebbles just grabs the shirt. On the occasions when she’s not so lucky, Pebbles manages to grab Mum’s arm too – and it hurts.
Taste test
Mum has asked us to do a taste test. Do we prefer honey yoghurt or vanilla yoghurt to mix with the tins of dog food in the Kongs? What a difficult decision to make. I asked if it really needed to be ‘either’ ‘or’? Couldn’t we have some of one and then some of the other? Pebbles being Pebbles promptly said she liked honey, so why couldn’t we just have that? Fortunately, Mum listened to me and we will still have some vanilla ones. The thing is, they make me think of Alfie. He always loved anything vanilla.
