Normal life
Today normal life resumes. To be honest, it’s been a few weeks since things have been anything like normal, so I’ve almost forgotten what it means. Apart from an odd day here and there, neither Pebbles nor I will be going into kennels for a couple of months. That has to be good news, for me anyway. Pebbles is less convinced. However, Pebbles should be going back to training classes so she’s happy about that. She is less pleased that Mum is planning to up her training time on a daily basis again, but it is necessary. She will be seeing the behaviourist in a little over a week, so Mum wants to make sure we focus on the key points and don’t get caught up on everyday stuff.
Drought
Where we live is now officially in drought. We could have told them that from how much water has gone from the pond. Apparently we don’t have a hosepipe ban at the moment, which is definitely good news for our vegetable crops. Some of them aren’t looking so good with not having been watered while Mum was away, but we think that most of the situation can be recovered. The potatoes were at the stage where the tops were going to die back anyway. Mum has said that if I’m lucky we can use home grown potatoes for the topping of my birthday cake. That would be really exciting. I’m hoping that the cake will have home grown carrot in it too.
The garden plans
Mum has already started discussing her ideas for the garden. It sounds like quite a bit of hard work. On the bright side, she says most of the hard landscaping jobs won’t start until the autumn. That gives plenty of time for her to change her mind, or conclude it all sounds too much like hard work. For now, we’re going to start by cutting the grass and getting things tidy.
