Filling in holes – Wednesday 27th August 2025

Filling in holes

Mum spent yesterday filling in holes in the grass. Pebbles spent yesterday taking apart a compost bin and distributing the contents, including shredded paper, around the garden.

Oh you should have seen Mum’s face. She’d just worked hard to take down Pebbles’ pen and had cut the grass really short for where she is having a marquee. Then she took the grass cuttings to put in the compost bin. There was Pebbles, rooting around amongst all the things she’d pulled out. Mum had a few choice words with her as she put the whole thing back together. The front that Pebbles had pulled off is now held in place by a paving slab and a concrete block. My money is still on Pebbles.

Helping Mum

After that Pebbles was sent inside and I helped Mum for a while. I started by giving her a big hug, which she said definitely helped. Then Mum filled in all the holes that Pebbles had dug, doing her best to stamp the ground down and make it level. She’s just hoping that it will be good enough to get her through the weekend. She has no doubt that Pebbles will dig it all up again, but hopefully not this side of Saturday.

Puppy training

Pebbles had a funny day really. She was going quite crazy first thing in the morning and Mum thought her training class would be hard work. Then by the time they arrived at class, Pebbles was a different dog and did really well. Even her class mates were congratulating her on how much she had improved. Mum said the best bit was that she didn’t cause quite as much of an issue getting into and out of the car. That can be a very stressful point for Mum. Well done Pebbles.
