Who moved my door? – Tuesday 18th November 2025

Who moved my door?

Ok, who moved my door? I thought this was going to be ok, but it’s not. Normally, I go out of the right hand door and if I try doing that today I walk into a piece of hardboard. Today I have to go out of the door on the other side of the room. Before you ask, yes when I came back in I did wait by a piece of hardboard for Mum to open it. Having dementia makes the world difficult enough to understand when nothing changes. If you move anything I’m in real trouble. I cope best if everything stays exactly the same and if daily activities happen at the same time. Any change and it floors me. Mum has promised my door is coming back, but it might not be today as planned. It might not come back until tomorrow and that’s too long for me.

Clown School

Pebbles has missed out on her puppy training today because Mum has twisted her knee. Of course, they are both fed up but for different reasons. Mum has renamed puppy training as ‘clown school’ as she says it more accurately reflects what Pebbles does. It makes me think I didn’t make the most of my training classes and may have taken them too seriously.

Pebbles is not happy as she’s going to miss next week’s class too, which means she’s only got her Christmas party to look forward to before having a break until the new year. Pebbles doesn’t actually want a break as she loves seeing her friends. She has made friends with a German Shepherd in the class below hers and can’t wait for him to move up to join her. The worst is when her friends move on to the next class and she doesn’t.
