In the dog house
Pebbles is well and truly in the dog house at the moment. I know a week in kennels can mean we forget our manners. And obviously, with her ADHD problems Pebbles doesn’t always understand how she should behave. On top of which, she is very needy of Mum. However, it doesn’t matter which way I look at it, Pebbles has not behaved very well in the last few days. Firstly, in a mad moment at the weekend she grab-bit Mum’s arm and although she didn’t make a hole in Mum’s clothing, she did make a hole in Mum’s arm.
Then yesterday she lost control of her behaviour in training. She threw herself at Mum, nose-punching Mum’s windpipe and leaving Mum reeling. The trainer had to take hold of Pebbles while Mum recovered. Mum’s neck is slightly bruised and swollen, but she’ll be ok in a day or two. As if that wasn’t enough, Pebbles launched herself at Mum again and head butted her in the mouth. That was the point at which Mum decided that Pebbles was just too over-excited to finish the training lesson, so they came home.
Alternative approach
Pebbles had been taking a bit of an alternative approach to the exercises even before that. They were supposed to be having Christmas photos, but Pebbles behaving as she was they were likely to completely wreck the little Christmas scene that had been set up. The trainer said ‘Will Pebbles sit over there instead?’ Of course, she meant on the ground, but Pebbles looked where she was pointing and jumped up onto the chair for a photo.

As they left, Pebbles also had a run-in with a Spaniel. Although, to be fair, Pebbles has no idea it was a run-in. She just wanted to play. She cannot real emotions at all and even though the Spaniel snapped at her Pebbles still wanted to play and had to be dragged away.
It’s been a tough week – and it’s only Wednesday.
