Action Stations
It’s action stations here today. Our village has a Christmas Tractor run and it usually signals the time we all turn our Christmas lights on. For that to happen we need to have put them up – we haven’t. Mum got all the boxes out but then life got in the way and the boxes have been piled in the hall all week. Now Mum is frantically issuing instructions. We are of course all saying yes but then completely ignoring her. If Mum wants to run around outside in the cold putting up lights then I for one will watch from the comfort of indoors. I will say all the right things once they are up, but until then I’ll just patiently watch.
In reality I’m sulking. Mum has put my favourite bed out of the way to make space for the Christmas tree. It has to go where Pebbles can’t get to it and apparently that is the best spot. That means I have a whole month without my favourite bed. In dog terms that’s a criminal offence.
BBC interview
Mum did an interview for the BBC yesterday. I think it was going out today. It’s about the new Animal Welfare Legislation which will increase the age at which puppies can be imported to 6 months of age. Of course if it stops puppy smuggling that’s a good thing, but it will also have an impact on breeds such as ours. There are still only 150 of us in the UK and we need to have new blood lines coming into the country so we can diversify the gene pool here. It is really important for us to make sure our breed remains healthy going into the future. Consequently we are campaigning for a permit system to allow legitimate importing still to take place at fifteen weeks of age as it does now.
When I have a link to the segment of Mum’s interview I’ll share it with you.
