The reality of life with dogs
Yesterday was the perfect example of the reality of life with dogs. There was Mum, first thing in the morning, looking forward to seeing how her television piece had worked out. Fortunately, although she didn’t turn the light on, it was light enough to see a dark patch on the floor. She immediately thought it was a dog toy, so didn’t stand on it – which was good, as it wasn’t a toy. I’d been sick. My own fault. Mum did warn me. Yesterday Mum gave Pebbles a new ostrich bone. It was supposed to be her Christmas present, but Mum went soft. Anyway, I got hold of it and as is my habit, I might have ended up swallowing bigger pieces than my body appreciates. I always do it. You’d think I’d learn.
Which is all a long way of saying that Mum was brought down to earth with a bump as her day started with having to clean up my sick and then get the carpet cleaner out for the bedroom carpet.
Our television piece
I thought it was just Mum who was going to be on television. As it turned out, I was on too and so were Pebbles and her brothers and sisters. What an exciting time. Sadly, our breed name wasn’t spelt correctly, but apart from that it wasn’t bad at all. As the Breakfast program only stays online for 24 hours, I took a copy of the clip so you could see it. I do hope they don’t mind, but I couldn’t think of another way to share it with you. So here we all are talking about the potential unintended consequences of the new Animal Welfare Act.
Christmas lights
Most of the rest of the day was taken up with Christmas decorations. We now have over 4000 fairy lights up. You can tell Mum doesn’t like winter. They are just the ones outside. We got the tree but didn’t have time to decorate it, so we’re doing that today.
