Warm and Dry – Friday 12th December 2025

Warm and dry

Yesterday was warm and dry. To be honest, if every winter day was like that I wouldn’t mind at all. Mind you, if every winter day were like that it wouldn’t really be winter. Oh I do miss snow, but only the crisp white snow we used to get in Switzerland. England isn’t really very good at snow. It always comes as a surprise. Everything comes to a stop. Then it goes wet and muddy and looks awful.

Anyway, Mum made the most of the weather by spending time outside gardening. I didn’t want to be out for long. I’d been to hydrotherapy and was feeling a little tired. Pebbles on the other paw thoroughly enjoyed her day.

Training time

Pebbles enjoyed her training time best. I think that was because she was rewarded with treats. One thing Pebbles really loves is being asked to climb up onto things. She doesn’t usually stay long enough to be photographed, but yesterday she at least tried to cooperate. The boxes she stands on are her favourite. If Mum says ‘hup’ she puts just her front paws on. If Mum says ‘hup hup’ she knows to put her front paws on one box and her back paws on the box behind. Pebbles always looks so pleased with herself when she does it right and gets a treat.

Missing Dad

I’m missing Dad. I’ve been sleeping in his place on the bed, just to keep it warm for him. To be honest, I’m quite impressed I can jump up there again. Mum tells me I’m not supposed to jump, but if she isn’t going to provide me with steps to get up there, what else can I do? I think she said I wasn’t supposed to be up there at all, but I’m guessing that was a mistake. I find it reassuring that it smells of Dad when he’s not here.

Love and licks
