Salivary Gland Hyperplasia
Pebbles has Salivary Gland Hyperplasia. Yes, I don’t know what that is either. Thankfully, her swollen glands do not seem to be anything too serious but they aren’t normal. They will need to be monitored in case they cause her a problem, but hopefully nothing will need to be done.
The vet made Mum laugh when she rang. It wasn’t our usual vet, so she doesn’t know Pebbles except having examined her under sedation. Pebbles is having her annual vaccination boosters today so the vet said she could examine them to take note of any change. She seemed surprised when Mum responded by saying ‘Good luck with that one’.
Annual vaccinations
Anyway, so today Pebbles will go for her annual vaccinations and Mum will be very stressed by the time she gets home. At least today Mum can use cheese to get Pebbles to cooperate but even that isn’t going to be enough to gain cooperation in administering the kennel cough. When Pebbles doesn’t want to cooperate it can go very badly.
Canine Dynamo
Pebbles is a canine dynamo. Living with her is unpredictable at best and a total nightmare at worst.
In the last couple of days Pebbles forgot to tell Mum she needed to go out and simply peed on the carpet. Mum was especially fed up as she’d already put the carpet cleaner in the car to lend it to someone. Then, as if that wasn’t enough, somehow – and we think it was accidental, Pebbles tore a large hole in Granny’s favourite chair and the filling exploded everywhere. It even took Pebbles by surprise. Mum says she will patch the cushion, but she’s also going to have to move the chair so that Pebbles can’t use it anymore. Overall, we lose. I liked that chair too.
