Two Legs Good – Monday 9th February 2026

Two Legs Good

Pebbles has decided that ‘two legs good’ – four legs bad. Aristotle used to be able to walk on two legs, but with Pebbles it goes to a whole new level. She spends most of her life on two legs. It doesn’t matter how much anyone tells her it’s not what she’s supposed to do, she’s just happy that way. She wants to be up at Mum and Dad’s level and so at every opportunity she just stands up.

First pawsteps

I took my first pawsteps into the railway station yesterday. They were quite wet, muddy pawsteps and I did get into trouble for not wiping my feet first. The builders are part way through building a step to get up easily. The step is actually there and usable, but I tried to jump up onto the higher bit, just in case. That got Mum worried and she said I mustn’t try jumping down just there. Apparently there is a rail to go in, but we’re still waiting for that. It’s all because our garden is on just a slope, it means that one side is quite a way off the ground.

Anyway, inside I was pleased to find there are heaters, so I should be nice and warm in there. At the moment, it’s just a big empty space, but I was able to get an idea of where I’d like my bed. I asked Mum if it could be opposite the French doors so that I could see down the garden.

Window seat

Mum wouldn’t let me go up onto the window seat yesterday. She said there are two problems. One is that it would mean jumping, and she doesn’t like me doing that. She will see if she can find the little steps to put in place to help me with that. The second problem is that she doesn’t want my claws scratching the wood. Honestly, what does she think I’m like? Ok, so I managed to scratch her so hard the other day I broke the skin, but I didn’t mean to. Maybe I should get my claws clipped. Mum said once the cushions were in place it would be less of a problem. I hope she’s right.

Love and licks
