A bit of a surprise
I had a bit of a surprise yesterday. There I was, having a nap on my favourite chair in the hall. It is the one in front of the wallpaper of my mountain and always feels a very happy place to me. Anyway, I was asleep when out of nowhere 24kg of solid muscle puppy, launched herself at me. She’d managed to slip through the door when Dad had gone to hang up his jacket. She did the usual Pebbles thing when she sees me. She wrapped her paws around my neck and clung on to me. Why she does that I have no idea, but I find it very distressing.
This is why she wears her harness during the day. Dad came over and used the handle on the back to lift her off me. It took Pebbles by surprise for long enough to let go of me and be frog marched back to her own side of the door.
More time indoors
Apart from that incident, Pebbles had a better day. She behaved pretty well on her walk and Mum said she wanted Pebbles to start spending more time indoors (preferably not hanging onto my neck). In the morning, It was Pebbles who said that if it was all the same to Mum she really didn’t want to be outside. The damp weather isn’t so much fun to have outdoor time. I can see her point. We’ve yet to discuss how that is going to work between the two of us. It may be I spend some time on my own in the office or the bedroom while Pebbles is with Mum. It would be better if we could find a way to integrate, but that’s not looking very likely just at the moment.
