Highland cows
‘I call Highland Cows.’ That was my answer to Mum when she asked which rug she should buy as a door mat for the railway station. Fortunately she agreed, so the highland cows have been ordered. As a cattle herding dog, did Mum really think I was going to choose a plain rug or one with pheasants? I’m much more likely to lie on the rug than she is. If I’m being honest, she can’t really get down to lie on the rug these days. And if she does get down there, she can’t get back up. It’s a bit of a problem really if you want to lie on a rug. Mind you, come to think of it, at no point has Mum said she wants to lie on a muddy rug – her loss.
Tuesday dog day
As with every Tuesday, today is our day. This morning Pebbles will take Mum to training. Frankly, we’ve been trying to train her for years. Alfie started the process over 20 years ago and we are still working on her now. Pebbles is giving it a good go. Maybe she will have more luck than the rest of us.
After that, I get to take Mum out. Tuesday afternoon is my swimming lesson. This week I’m having my regular injection for my arthritis too.
At least we don’t leave Mum any opportunity to get bored on a Tuesday. After training, as a special treat Pebbles is taking Mum to meet Dad at the railway club they have joined. It will mean Pebbles having to sit patiently in the car for a while, but she won’t mind too much. As long as Pebbles brings Mum home in time for our lunch I don’t mind. I do hate my lunch being late.
Love and licks
