Guests and more guests – Monday 9th March 2026

Guests and more guests

The weekend was guests and more guests. To be honest, Pebbles and I were a bit fed up as it was more about the humans than it was about us. How many times do I have to say ‘I’ll have the blueberry cheesecake, please’ before anyone will take any notice of me? I don’t mind missing out on the gravy. I understand that it contains onion and dogs are not safe to have onion. I didn’t try asking for a Yorkshire pudding, but I would have liked some of the meat and maybe the odd roast potato. One day would have been bad enough, but we missed out on roast dinners two days running – how fair is that?

Bad behaviour

I may have slightly forgotten myself. One of the visitors was my cousin Flossie, who is a Spaniel. We’ve been for walks together. It’s not like we don’t know each other. However it’s the second time after she’s visited that I’ve felt the need to pee where she’s been. Mum talked about it with me last time and said it wasn’t acceptable. I know that in theory, but I just got this urge.

Fortunately this time at least it was on the tiled floor in the hall, so was a bit easier for Mum to clean up. I really must remember that humans don’t appreciate those things, but sometimes my dementia gets the better of me.

Hydrotherapy

My dementia got in the way of last week’s hydrotherapy too. You try standing on a moving walkway when your brain simply won’t tell you what to do with your legs. It took a lot of encouragement and guidance from Mum and my hydrotherapist to stop me keep hitting the glass at the back of the tank. I hope it goes a little better this week.

Love and licks
