Good girl – Wednesday 15th April 2026

Good girl

Pebbles was a good girl yesterday. Her usual training class was cancelled so she had to choose between joining the puppy class and joining the more experienced dogs. Pebbles was all in favour of joining the puppies, but Mum put her foot down. Mum said it wasn’t fair on the puppies and the risk was that Pebbles would leave them feeling traumatised. I knew what she meant. I feel traumatised every time I come into contact with Pebbles.

Anyway, that meant that Pebbles had to work with the more experienced dogs. They were all lovely and were taking their training very seriously. As a result, Pebbles had fewer distractions. She still spent loads of time doing commando crawl and rolling on her back, but in between she worked quite hard.

Downtime

Mum had to let her have a sniff around between exercises to keep her concentration going, but it meant that Pebbles got quite a lot out of her morning and Mum came home looking a little less frazzled. Pebbles had quite a few treats through the course of her lesson, but it didn’t stop her wanting lunch.

One thing that Mum has had a word with Pebbles about though is all the commando crawl is making her tummy sore. It doesn’t help that she is losing some hair ahead of her season, so she’s beginning to look a bit threadbare in places. Mum has said she will rub some cream into Pebbles’ tummy as long as she promises not to lick it off. Like that’s going to work out as Mum plans!

On the bright side, Pebbles really enjoyed the little jumps she did in the training class and has asked Mum if she could possible have some. Mum has said she will see – which usually means ‘yes’.

Love and licks
