A bit of a storm
We had a bit of a storm yesterday. One minute I was snoozing away and minding my own business. The next minute there was thunder and lightning, rain lashing down and wind blowing in all directions. Thankfully I was indoors in the warm and dry, but it was still all a little surprising. Mum is now very behind on cutting the grass and was rather hoping that things would start drying out again. It doesn’t look as though that will be happening any time soon. Mum had thought of moving the olives back into place from their sheltered winter spot and is now glad she didn’t.
The lemons
The lemons have another couple of weeks to get through indoors before they can go back outside. I was wondering if they would have any leaves left by the time they went out, but I’m now feeling a little more optimistic. They seem to have some new leaves growing. If they can just hold on for a short while they can have a summer to recover, before they have to go through the ignominy of wintering in the lounge again. It’s the penalty of being brought up further north than they’d choose for themselves. I wonder if they’ve thought of flying south with the birds.
Paws over my ears
At the moment I have my paws over my ears quite a lot. Mum is excited as she’s going to a concert of one of her childhood music heroes. Now, bear in mind that Mum was 60 at her last birthday and you can start to get a picture of how old the person is that she’s going to see. Mum is clearly of the opinion that you are never too old for rock music, frankly from a dog’s point of view, I have to disagree. I am definitely too old for this. I’m going to have to put up with Mum singing along for at least another week – and she complains at my barking!
