Distressing odours
It seems to be a week of distressing odours. It was Mum who was distressed when she picked me up from kennels. I’d been sprayed with a ‘pooch perfume’ before leaving. It was not a success. Mum is asthmatic and had to have all the windows of the car down to drive me home. Then I had to have a bath and have my bedding washed. I guess I won’t be trying that again. To be fair, it wasn’t actually my idea at the time.
Then there is the smell of glue. Mum is trying to glue a layer of cork to the base board for the model railway. When I say ‘trying’ she’s doing a better job of sticking herself together. It’s probably a good thing that she can’t used the strongest glues. Mum wears a mask while she’s doing it, but I’m lying in the bed under the table wondering if I should be concerned about the smell.
Rabbit ears
This is not for the squeamish among you. Mum has purchased a supply of rabbit ears as a treat for Pebbles. She used to like them when she was a small puppy, but hasn’t had them for a while. She’s thrilled. The only problem is that she doesn’t always want to eat it when she’s given it. Around our house there seems to be a random supply of part eaten rabbit ears. They’re not really my thing, so I don’t finish them off. Maybe that’s why she feels safe to leave them around.
Mum has to move the ostrich bone so I don’t eat it. Bones make me sick. It’s because I bite off too big chunks rather than nibbling at them. I never learn. It’s the same reason Mum had to stop giving me chews. I hear Pebbles munching away on a chew and feel a little jealous.
