A Very Happy Puppy
Pebbles was a very happy puppy yesterday. She loves going to her training classes but on arrival she got a special surprise. Two Bernese Mountain Dog puppies have started in the puppy class. Although Pebbles is now in the next class up from that, they work in the same field. Pebbles was beside herself with excitement and had to rush over immediately to introduce herself. They both seemed just as pleased to meet Pebbles.
It was the very best start to her class and Pebbles was immediately commando crawling around the field in excitement.

Doing her best
Mum said that Pebbles seemed to want to show how grown up she is. For most of the exercises in her own class, Pebbles was as good as gold. She walked nicely with Mum. Then they had to weave through the poles and she did really well. Apart from not being able to sit still, Pebbles did some good recalls. She even managed a recall through a whole line of distractions without so much as pausing to consider them.
The only thing which didn’t go well was ‘stay’. Pebbles simply can’t contain herself long enough to sit still for a stay. She tried as hard as she could, but it is just not in her capability yet.
The final exercise was a send away to bed. Pebbles aced it. She was going to a little podium and as Mum and she play that in the garden she didn’t need any of the build up. She went from a few paces away, sat when told and then returned to Mum when called. The final part of the exercise was to do all of that, but include going around a cone and returning to the bed before the recall. Bless, Pebbles, she even managed to do that and was really enjoying herself.
Mum came home thrilled with her and not looking even a tiny bit frazzled. Unlike today. Mum has gone to the dentist and she was looking frazzled before she started. I dread to think what she’ll be like when she gets back.
Love and licks
