Planning for my birthday
I’ve been planning for my birthday. In a little under two weeks, I’m going to be 11 years old. Quite honestly, there have been a number of times over the last few months that I didn’t think I was going to make it that far. Now, I’m feeling a little more optimistic. Mum asked me what I’d like to do for my birthday, so I’ve been giving it some thought. These days, I don’t cope awfully well with going out, but every so often it does me good to go somewhere different. When I say ‘different’ what I really mean is the same as it was before, but I haven’t been for a while.
The two places locally that I really like are the racecourse and Oakley Woods. I’ve gone off meeting people and dogs so I think I’d find the racecourse a bit much. But I might like to go to the woods.
Early Start
I’ve asked Mum if we could possibly make an early start and go to the woods when there won’t be too many people and when it won’t be too hot. She’s talking to Dad about how early we could go. I’m quietly looking forward to it. Although obviously I’ve got my heart set on a steak dinner as well. After the last birthday cake Mum tried making for us, I’ll skip the dog cake and just have the steak. Maybe she could get some ice cream in for me too. I’d even be prepared to share that with Pebbles.
I would just like to stress that I don’t want to share the walk with Pebbles. That would be a paw step too far. I’m not sharing the steak either, but then I don’t think Mum would expect me to.
Love and licks
