Another hot day
Today is supposed to be another hot day. I shall be spending it indoors, in a cool area. Mum is excited as looking at the weather forecast we might start getting some rain from tomorrow. She says we could do with gentle rain over a few hours each day, but you rarely get what you want where weather is concerned. Mum says that when things start to pick up and we start all the autumn gardening jobs we’ll have to count the cost of what plants haven’t made it through the drought. I’ve got my paws crossed that our favourites will get through, but some of them aren’t looking too good at the moment.
Giraffe
We have a bit of a giraffe problem. Mum bought herself a small key fob, which is a cuddly giraffe. She says it makes it much easier to find her keys in her bag. The whole story is that she bought a robin too. The robin is on her keys to the outside things as the robin is an outdoor animal. The giraffe is on her keys to the house itself as he’s an indoor – if you can work out Mum’s logic you’re doing better than Dad and me.
Anyway, we have another problem. Pebbles wants to add giraffe to her soft toy collection. At the moment there is a battle of wills between Mum and Pebbles. Normally, when Mum opens the back door she leaves her keys hanging from the lock, but that would put giraffe in range for Pebbles to take. A complete rethink is needed of what Mum does every day. The alternative is that Pebbles is going to have a giraffe to add to Sloth, Hoppig, Duck and Moose.
I don’t think Pebbles has actually spotted the robin yet. This may become a bigger problem than just giraffe.
