Ready to work
Be ready to work when you come home, Mum says. Who is she kidding? I don’t think I really want to work. I felt tired just listening to her plans. Apparently, she has put together a schedule of how much of the garden autumn / winter maintenance we need to complete each week. Mum has broken the garden down into what she regards as manageable chunks. I just want to get back to my Boomer balls. You can’t know how much I’ve missed them. If Mum’s need to work in the garden is going to mean more time outside, I can deal with that. My only hope is that I can be left to my own devices with Mum or Dad watching from time to time.
Indoor / Outdoor
Mum and Dad are going to have to keep me and Wilma completely apart. Apparently, the last thing Wilma needs is a ‘crazy ball of energy wrapping her paws around Wilma’s neck’ – Mum’s words not mine. I took exception at ‘crazy’. Anyway, the only way we can do that and both of us also be happy with the situation is for one of us to spend a lot of time outdoors. At the moment, Wilma only wants to go out to the toilet and she’s making her views on staying out any longer very clear.
That suits me. I love the outdoors. I can really let my fur down out there. However, it means that one of Mum and Dad will have to work the indoor shifts and the other one the outdoor ones – whatever the weather. Dad doesn’t do rain! To be fair, Dad isn’t awfully good at outdoors, unless it involves a nice walk or food and drink.
All I can say is, it’s a good job Mum doesn’t mind a bit of rain!
