Five legs
A dog does not have five legs. Mum was putting together a poster for our next fun day yesterday. She asked AI for some help, but gave it the pictures she wanted it to use. What could possibly go wrong? Quite a lot as it turned out. The AI programme she used took it upon itself to improve the photo of my friend Ruby and give her an extra leg. Why would you do that? Ruby has four perfectly good legs. It’s exactly the right number to have one at each corner of our bodies. We stand nice and evenly and there are no extras to get in the way.
Mum had to start all over again and tell the programme not to enhance the pictures in any way. Frankly, speaking as a dog, I don’t see a fifth leg as an enhancement.
A Quiet Day
Wilma had a quiet day yesterday. She wasn’t too agitated, which was good, but Mum said she seemed a bit down. Her arthritis isn’t great. She’s really missing her anti-inflammatories, but she can’t have those. It’s hard for her.
Mum had a bit of a crisis as the special food that Wilma is on has run out. They had ordered more and it was supposed to be delivered by yesterday. Unfortunately, Mum got a notice that it wouldn’t arrive until Wednesday. It’s a really important part of keeping Wilma’s blood sugar stable. Mum found another supplier that can get some for her for today, so Mum is driving to their warehouse to pick some up this morning. Because it’s a special diet, the shops don’t stock it, which makes it hard if you run out.
Mum still has some left of Wilma’s old food, but unfortunately that doesn’t help in stabilising Wilma’s blood sugar. Mum says she will let me have the rest of that when we’re training. I know it’s for old dogs, but it’s a really nice food so I don’t mind.
