My bags are packed – Tuesday 8th September 2026

My bags are packed

Well my bags are packed and I’m ready to go home. It didn’t take long. Once I’d persuaded Moose that he wouldn’t suffocate inside the bag, we were good to go. I’ve eaten most of my food and treats, so I hope Mum has got some more in for me. If things go to plan, Mum will arrive armed with cheese. That is one way I’ve got her completely trained. I will get into the car like a well-behaved dog, if and only if I’m offered cheese. Of course, it must be Emmenthal. Mum knows the rules. She won’t let me down. Then we start the journey home.

Looking out of the window

I spend all journeys looking out of the back window of the car. It’s such a shame to lie down and miss anything. Mum says I should relax, but the best I can offer is not climbing the walls of my crate like I used to. Mum will probably update me on any news I’ve missed, but I’ve kept pretty up to date, so we may just listen to a book. Quite honestly, Mum’s choice in books is not always what I would select, but she doesn’t let me choose. Mine would be more action packed and have lots of dogs as the heroes. I wonder if there’s a book about a dog who dreams of joining the circus. That might be right up my street.

Keeping us apart

Mum’s biggest problem is going to be keeping me and Wilma apart but also giving us both as much attention as we need. That’s not helped by Wilma being very needy right now and to be fair, me being not much better. Mum has asked me to be understanding, but I think she’s mistaking me for another dog!
