Mum hates November – Friday 6th November 2026

Mum hates November

Mum hates November and yesterday I could see why. It barely got light all day. The sky was grey and in reality the whole world seemed grey. At least my little bit of the world. Mum laughed and said that it could be much worse if it was foggy as well. It made me realise that being a mountain dog is not the same as being an outdoor loving dog. Where I live there are no mountains. From the pictures of mountains from my homeland there is more blue sky, even in winter. It’s ok for me not to like the outdoors when I can’t have mountains and blue skies. Living in the UK in winter, even though I’m a mountain dog, I have decided it would be fine to prefer a log fire and a comfortable hearth. For the record, we don’t have either where I’m living now, so I am open to offers.

My sister apparently has a weighted blanket too and I’m thinking maybe I’d like to try one of those.

Group walk

Having said all that, I am really looking forward to the group walk I’m going on this Sunday. My sister Raya is going, which will make it perfect as far as I’m concerned. Mum is a little concerned that I will be expected to play rough and tumble with Rays and will be on the lead attached to her, and I can see why she’s worried.

I think there are going to be at least six of us on Sunday, which should be huge fun. Some of them are calmer and better behaved and they may choose to distance themselves from those of us who are more prone to mayhem. That last bit may just be Raya and me, although Izzy may give us a good bark too. The funny thing now I come to think about it is that the more sensible ones are all the boys!
