An eventful 24 hours – Saturday 19th September 2026

An eventful 24 hours

It’s been an eventful 24 hours. Nothing dramatic, just lots going on. On Thursday night, Mum needed a cuddle so invited me to sit in the big chair with her. Oh I tried to be good. It just never quite works out that way.

I stayed still for a minute or two, but then Dad stood in the doorway to the room and I was really pleased to see him. The problem was I couldn’t decide if I wanted to stay with Mum or go to Dad, so I did commando crawl forwards and backwards across the chair repeatedly until everyone was laughing and Dad came and joined us. Mum said it was a shame Dad didn’t have his camera as it would have made a great video and there is no way anyone would quite be able to believe what I was doing without seeing it.

Like a gazelle

You know I can’t sit still. The next thing I did was tried out Mum’s mini trampoline. I’ve never been on it before, but when I got off the chair I climbed over it and then realised just how satisfying the bounce was. So I got back on and had a little bounce before getting off. It’s a bit like my swing but better.

Then I thought I’d get back on the chair with Mum but her legs were in the way, so I simply jumped like a gazelle and landed the other side of her on the chair. Mum was astounded, but I’ve been practicing.

Morning walk

My morning walk yesterday was pretty cool too. I head butted the post lady. Mum had just got as far as ‘Be careful…’ as the lady bent down to stroke me, when I did my usual trick before Mum finished the sentence. Thankfully our post lady is used to animals and I was forgiven.

Mum had to explain to me why it wasn’t ok to try to chase a tractor, after I tried pulling her back down the road after it. And then there’s the one that confuses me. Why does Mum say it’s a good thing for me to sniff along our walk if, when I find a good scent, I’m not allowed to drag her across a field in pursuit? I simply don’t understand.

Cat Fight

And as if all that wasn’t enough, there was a cat fight on our drive. We don’t even have a cat. Next door’s cat (the grey one) has decided our front garden is his territory. The ginger cat we haven’t actually seen before. We were in Mum’s office when suddenly we were disturbed by hissing and screeching and fur flying. By the time I pointed the camera out, they were having a bit of a stand-off. Mum knocked the window then and said they could fight elsewhere.

I hope today is as much fun.
