Sun-bathing
I spent quite a lot of time sun-bathing yesterday. Mum was doing her gardening thing and it was such a lovely day. It wasn’t just the sun I was enjoying. Isn’t it wonderful now the grass is nice and soft again? It was so dry and prickly to lie on all summer and now it is really soft underpaw. Mum says I should be careful spending too long lying on wet grass, but I think she fusses too much. Of course, if she’s really worried, I’d be quite happy for her to bring a waterproof blanket out for me to lie on. I’ve got a feeling there’s a raised bed somewhere. Perhaps I could have that outside.
Bees, wasps and hornets
Mum didn’t cut the whole area of the back hedge that she was planning to do. There were all sorts of stingy things feeding on the flowering ivy. Mum said some of them were really rather large and she thought one was a European Hornet. As a result of that, she thought it best to leave them to it and not cut that particular bit of hedge. Mind you, some parts of the hedge seem to have died in the drought, so they didn’t need cutting either.
Training class
I’m excited about my training class today. Mum’s pleased that the weather forecast says it’s going to be dry. I’m more focussed on which puppies might be moving up to our class and whether I will get on with them. Obviously I’ll like them, it’s more a question of what they make of me. Mum has said I should wait for them to come to me and not bounce all over them. That’s easier said than done when I’m so excited about introducing myself.
