Buying a tree
Buying a tree is never easy for Mum. She finds garden centres a bit the way I find pet shops. It’s not a question of ‘is there anything I like’ but more ‘how many can I carry’. In Mum’s case the answer was more than fit in the car. To be fair, one of the trees is to give me more shade where I like to lie on the grass and play football. I’m not sure what her excuse was for the other items. Dad didn’t want to bother going, but even he came back enthusiastic about the wonderful nursery they’d found and thinking he’d be going back for another look.
On the bright side, it means this morning is a gardening morning so that Mum can plant some of her ‘finds’. She is also going to finish – yes actually finish – the greenhouse! It even looks ok, if you discount the door that doesn’t seem to slide closed.
Celebrity Traitors
I have been watching Celebrity Traitors. Mum and Dad laugh at me actually watching the tv and most of their dogs haven’t. I quite like seeing what is going on. I do wonder why humans do the things they do, but it does mean that I get plenty of cuddles and tummy rubs while we’re watching. Mum objected when I tried to take a mouthful of her supper, which I thought was mean. Although, when I think about it, I wouldn’t want to share my bedtime sardine either.

I did try asking Mum who all the celebrities were, but she was almost as clueless as I was. Why don’t they include a few dogs taking part? We’d be rather good at some of the activities. Having said that, I’ve never known a dog be a traitor. That seems to be a uniquely human quality.
