Kedleston Hall

Today I’m going for a walk at Kedleston Hall. I hope Mum has remembered her waterproofs and my cheese. I’m all packed ready for her to pick me up. To be fair, it doesn’t take long to pack. As long as I haven’t lost Sloth, I’m good to go. Mum of course worries about all the other bits and pieces like my lead and harness, but I only really care that I’ve got Sloth.

I’m hoping that having other dogs there will mean I don’t get over-stressed about the wet and windy weather. I’m not always that good with windy days. Mum says now I’m an adult, I really have to try.

Back to personality traits

I really wanted to finish telling you about my personality traits, but there are quite a few still to go. The next one is funny. Until I told Mum she hadn’t noticed, but it is true of me. I’m significantly less likely to cross my paws. Mum says it’s a shame as it was really cute when Shadow used to do that. She must have been at the other end of the genetic scale as she did it a lot.

Next up is one that makes me more unusual in our breed. I’m generally friendly to people I meet including complete strangers. Usually we are more hesitant where strangers are concerned, but I’m just as happy to rush up and head butt them as I am the people I already know.

Will I lick you?

I’m mid range for being licky. You could say I’m typical. Of all Mum’s dogs, Shadow was the one most likely to lick you. I just do it now and then as the mood takes me. I’m also typical when it comes to the instinct to nest. I do that occasionally, but not all the time. And I’m also typical in my willingness to play with other dogs.

Honestly, I read all this and start to think I’m normal. Today I’ll leave you with one that made Mum laugh. I am less likely than normal to be hesitant when visiting the vet. Mum says that will come as a great comfort to our vets and does explain why the minute he opened the door I ran in and threw myself at the last vet I saw. What can I say? I’m just an enthusiastic kind of girl!
