Busy times – Wednesday 6th September 2023

Busy times

We’re about to begin some very busy times around here. It really began last week with the work on the pond. Then this week our office floor and all the painting Mum has been doing. However, it should now only be a short while until all sorts of work begins and we just won’t know what to do with ourselves. I keep asking Mum how it’s going to work for us dogs but she hasn’t got a clue. She says we’ll all curl up under the desk in our office and wait for it to all go away. I don’t think she’ll do that literally, but I know she’d like to. It would be much easier if we could move out, but sadly that isn’t going to happen.

Ari is worried about when there are diggers in our back garden doing some groundwork. He says he wants to be outside supervising it all. Mum has promised that his plants will be fine and that the only things being dug up will not be where he’s growing his plants and crops.

Excavation

One part of the excavation will be quite exciting. There is a perfect circle of ground which is raised above the ground around it and we’ve all wondered what it is. Now it has to be dug up and flattened as a garden building will go on top of it. We’re all waiting to see what the mound really is. Mum says the way the project has gone so far she’s fully expecting it to be something which delays the whole project. If Alfie were still alive he’d be taking bets on the outcome.

The worst bit is that I might only be going into the garden on a lead much of the time. It means I’ll have far fewer apple eating opportunities, so I’m stocking up now.

Love
