Visiting Flossie
Today I’m visiting Flossie. At least I’m hoping that’s what will happen. I’m off to Bedford with Mum but I know we have a lot to do. Dad’s going to Crufts today, which did make me feel a pang of jealousy. I could have gone with him, but we all know that Mum is not safe to be left on her own. Mind you, when Mum says ‘road trip’ I always put my paw up to join her. One way or another we always make our outings fun.
In the showring
Today some of my friends will be in the Crufts showring. We are part of the Working breeds group in the UK. Because our breed only has fairly low numbers we are still in the ‘Import Category’. That means we would be in the showring with other breeds who are also still in the import category and don’t have their own classes. However, we are the only breed in the Working group in the category, so it works out just the same as having our own classes anyway.
Special good luck to Polly. We’re rooting for her not only because she is a granddaughter from Shadow, but also because her human in the show ring is only nine years old. We are all so proud of Polly and Skye, so good luck to you both, but most importantly – have fun!
Rising sap
Apparently, it is important that the sap is rising in the apple trees. For the first time, Dad is going to be trying to do a graft. It’s the ones where he took the cuttings a few weeks ago and now needs to graft them onto a root. Now that the apple trees all have buds that makes it the right time. I do hope he’s successful.
