Open Studios
Mum got very excited to find there was a local open studios event. Yesterday was the last day, so she was lucky to find out about it just in time. She has a handbag which she loves using for dog walking. It is a tiny backpack, just big enough for the essentials for going out with me. Unfortunately, the strap broke. She has tried to get it repaired and even emailed the company who made it, but with no luck. Anyway, one of the people doing the open studios was a leather worker in the next village. Mum decided to take it to see if he could do anything to fix it. I am delighted to tell you that I have a very happy Mum who can now use her favourite dog walking handbag again.
The only downside for me was that Mum and Dad were gone longer than they planned as they enjoyed looking at everything. I waited at home like a good girl. They never really go for very long, but my lunch was half an hour late.
Phase 1
Phase 1 of our building work should be finished this week – at least we hope it will be. We won’t actually get a break as phase 2 will start the following week. It still feels like an important milestone. The second part shouldn’t take as long, but is a lot of internal work in the old parts of the house. Mum says it is going to take a few months, but at least it feels as though we’re getting somewhere. We should be back in our bedroom soon and that has to be good. Mum might actually be able to find some different clothes to wear for a change.
I shan’t move my crate into my new room until everything is finished as the workman will be going in and out that way and I’d get a bit fed up with it. Besides, I only really want it in there when I don’t have to use it very much and can go when I choose to be somewhere quite. At the moment, I still want it very close to where Mum is.
